Balanced Victory, The God-designed Life
There is a heavenly mandate, set by Christ and described by the apostle Paul in the early life of the church. The Mandate is a simple one, to reach the world with the good news, the gospel of Christ. Our mission as men and women of God is to work until the knowledge of the glory of God covers the earth like the water covers the sea. We are here to be Christ’s ambassadors, to allow the Lord to implore the world through us, to be reconciled with Him. Because Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith and the ultimate architect of any effective ordained ministry, He has promised that the gates of Hades, death will not prevail against His work. We know that unless the Lord builds the house, the labor is in vain, therefore, we are determined to be sure that our particular “mission” is His mission.
Now, there is still so much work to be done, for it is time for the knowledge of God to reach beyond the walls of church and into the lives of individuals. In a time when the divorce rates amongst Christians are as high as those who do not know God, we are at a crisis of Faith and Life. The Victory we are to experience is supposed to have an affect on the total man, not just in religious observances and rituals. When that goal is accomplished then we will be able to live the life that God has designed specifically for every individual. For this to happen, we must overcome the world.
To “Overcome the World”, means to defeat the spirit that is at work in those who are disobedient. There are two types of power, authority and influence. Though the enemy does not have authority over your life, he can have the power of influence. One of his biggest weapons is the lure of the “world.” As the prophet Isaiah said in the book of Isaiah 2:2, “In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be chief among the mountains. Many people will say, come let us go up to the mountain of the Lord.” A mountain is a high place, a place of advantage. Yet we live in a time where the ideas and concepts of God are not seen as a point of advantage. People have ceased to seek God, and in their minds the mountain of the Lord’s temple is not supreme. The “God designed life” is not the mountain that people are seeking, but rather other mountains, such as the mountains of riches, fame, education, pleasure. These aspects of life are not to be the goal, but rather the by-products of a properly designed life. It is important to God that we prosper, but that prosperity comes as a result of seeking Him first.
To begin the journey towards the life God desires for you to have, you are going to have to first “Overcome the World.” The World insists that Life is found in the pursuit of “things.” But we have been deceived, real life is found in the giving not in the getting. And more importantly, you are never going to have real life without instruction from the author of life.
God has an “on Earth plan” for everyone. There is presently a great emphasis on end times and spiritual thought has focused much attention on what will happen when you die. And that is important, but we believe that God is as concerned about your life on earth as He is with where you will spend eternity. We all have an Earth Mission: to live a life worthy of God, and to please him with your living. Balanced victory is the power of God active in your Total being, Spirit, Soul and Body. That kind of Life walk is as pleasing to God as any worship service, for true worshippers worship in Spirit and in Truth. Truth sets you free, and freedom leads to the true expression of God’s specific life design. Therefore the ultimate aim of Life is to find God’s design for you. And the beginning of that is simple, as simple as saying yes.
So we invite you to say yes to God, and say yes to a peace that will transcend any emotion you could ever imagine. Say yes to a love greater than anything seen in a movie or song or soap opera. Say yes to a Joy higher than any high from any stimulant. Say yes to God and His plan for your life, and everything else will fall into place. Be more than you have ever been before, stop being a victim, be a victor. Be an Overcomer!
